Unrestrainable ~ Original Painting
This painting is my personal favorite. I have to admit, I’ll be sad to see it go but excited to see it land in its new home. There’s a lyric from the song “Gasoline” by Jann Arden: “This thing beneath my ribs will beat me to the ground” that provided the inspiration for this painting along with a line from my all time favorite novel Wuthering Heights: “I'm wearying to escape into that glorious world, and to be always there: not seeing it dimly through tears, and yearning for it through the walls of an aching heart; but really with it, and in it.” And, of course, there was my own over full heart, which at the time was threatening to burst out of its cage, that propelled me into an almost manic state of creating. It was messy process—frantic and urgent—that resulted in what you see here. This is a 16x20 acrylic painting on canvas and you may want to collect it because, like you, she knows how much an aching heart hurts whether it’s aching due to new love or heartbreak or both at the same time.
